Emken Supports Sequestration Transparency Act

Republican U.S. Senate candidate calls on Feinstein to join House approval to require details of impact of automatic cuts to defense and other spending

(ORANGE COUNTY, CA) - Republican U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Emken today released the following statement on the House passage of H.R. 5872, The Sequestration Transparency Act of 2012:

“Massive cuts to our national defense are due to kick in right after the November election, and Californians deserve to know how much damage these ill-advised cuts will do to California’s economy. We’re proud of the contributions Californians are making every day to our national defense, including our men and women in uniform, and the workers at California defense contractors who provide equipment and support to our troops in the field,” said Emken.

“Senators campaigning for re-election like to cite the vast influence they have over all things Washington. Dianne Feinstein can start by supporting HR 5872 to require the President to detail the impact these cuts will have on our economy as well as our national security.”
